The Breedekloof Camino is a 5-day hiking adventure through one of South Africa’s most picturesque valleys. It is a curated walk designed to explore the breathtaking beauty of a vineyard symphony woven across a large valley basin wrapped in awe-inspiring mountain ranges.

ABOUT BREEDEKLOOF CAMINO

Daily breakfast (muesli, yogurt, fruit, boiled eggs, rusks and coffee/tea) will be provided every morning at your place of accommodation.

Daily snacks for all walking days (you can take these in your small day trail backpack) for e.g biltong, drywors, healthmix nuts and fruit, and sweeties.

Daily lunch pack will be provided to enjoy en route when the group stops at a midway point for the day.

Dinner will be provided for all evenings where you will experience Boland hospitality at its best! Meals include braai’s and delicious locally prepared meals with vegetarian/vegan options available upon booking request.

Drinks are also included and will consist of local wine, beer, G&T, soft drinks and coffee/tea. As a means to experience the Breedekloof Wine Valley, we will be serving a range of different wines from various wineries every day to showcase the valley's incredible offering.

Accommodation for 5 nights. We’ve carefully selected top-notch sleeping destinations so as to experience Breedekloof’s high-end options that boast of comfort and stunning views. Please refer to The Trail page to see the specific breakdown.

Slackpacking services. We gladly transport your bags between accommodation venues. For your daily walking you will need no more than a small day trail backpack.

Safe parking for your vehicle for the duration of the Breedekloof Camino.

Three formal wine tastings: Du Toitskloof Wines, Jason’s Hill Private Wine Cellar and Breedekloof Makers.

A gin tasting or a gin cocktail, or if you prefer, have both at Monks Gin Distillery on the bank of the Breede River (walking day 4).

A garden & architectural tour at Bosjes, including the internationally acclaimed "Bosjes Chapel" boasting of several landscaping awards in SA and abroad. At Bosjes you will also enjoy a farewell lunch at the "Spens".

A welcome pack including a quality Breedekloof Camino cap, shirt, socks and fact sheet.

This is honestly the Best Hike in South Africa. It is slack packing but it is curated from the minute you arrive to receive your thoughtful goody bags, to when Degenaar meets you as you end the hike.
