  • Please refer to the “THE TRAIL” page to see a breakdown of the day-to-day program. Also have a look at the “HOME” page where you will find the “WHAT IS INCLUDED” section.

  • Our route difficulty is considered medium. You do have a steep climb on Walking Day 2. This incline is a zigzag trail taking you up onto a plateau of the mountain – not the highest part of the mountain, but high enough to experience breath-taking views of the Breedekloof region. If you are walking fit you have nothing to worry about. The Breedekloof Camino is mostly a walk on open contour mountain trails and involves no steep drop off’s nor ropes or special hiking equipment.

  • Please be aware that you will not be allowed to join us on the Breedekloof Camino if you have not completed and signed the indemnity from.

We will email you a form to sign when you have made your final payment (latest 4 weeks prior to arrival).

Please also take note of our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Disclaimer tabs found in the footer section of each page on the website.

  • We ask that all our guests keep in mind that you will enjoy a week in nature’s pristine beauty – let’s keep it that way. Littering or destruction of the fauna and flora is strictly prohibited. The farms you will be walking through are working farms and are to be enjoyed and respected.

  • The Breedekloof is a unique area in the sense that you encounter exquisite beauty during the summer and winter months in different ways and forms. If you prefer lush green vineyards, the warmer months are for you. If you prefer something different like snow-capped mountain ranges and cozy fireplaces, then the colder months are a treat.

The Breedekloof Camino runs all year round – except for 6 weeks. We are not open the last week of December and the first week in January, and also closed for the month of July (mid winter).

In the extreme case of severe conditions, we will transport you around specific areas to avoid any possible dangerous situations (could happen in winter months, but unlikely).

All months available for booking have their own charm and provide good weather for walking. We recommend warmer clothes in the winter times (and a poncho / rain breaker as back-up), whilst in the summer months hot sunny days are expected.

No matter the month, be assured that you are signing up for an unforgettable experience.

  • In the case of driving with your own vehicle to the Breedekloof Camino, your car will be safely parked for the duration of the camino at the first night’s accommodation (Dwarsberg Trout Hideaway).

If you need assistance with regards to a shuttle service to and from Cape Town International Airport, or extra nights accommodation before or after the camino, we can gladly help to arrange that. Please send us an email to info@breedekloofcamino.co.za and specify your requests.

  • The Breedekloof Camino will include healthy, well-rounded and delicious locally prepared food. When you have made your final payment (latest 4 weeks prior to arrival), we will send you a form to complete with regards to dietary requirements you might have.

    • Trail running shoes – or if you prefer a different boot for walking.

    • Basic clothing – walk / hike related for the day and comfortable for the evenings.

    • Towel – you will receive towels at the overnight venues for your night’s stay, but you might want to have an extra one on hand for swimming at Goudini Spa etc.
